Motus Corporation is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Level Year 1 Apprentice to join the team at VW Welkom. Successful candidates will work under the supervision of qualified technicians while completing the MerSETA apprenticeship programme, gaining the knowledge and experience required to qualify as an automotive technician.
Job Description
The Apprentice will assist experienced technicians with vehicle servicing, diagnostics, and repairs while attending technical training and preparing for trade assessments. This role combines classroom learning with practical, hands-on experience to help apprentices build a successful career in the motor industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist qualified technicians with vehicle servicing, maintenance, and repairs.
- Learn to diagnose vehicle faults using specialised diagnostic equipment.
- Attend scheduled technical and apprenticeship training courses.
- Gain practical experience under the supervision of experienced technicians.
- Prepare thoroughly for level tests and trade assessments.
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment.
- Perform additional duties as reasonably assigned by management.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics and Physical Science.
- Accredited N3 Certificate.
- Valid, unendorsed driver’s licence.
- Clear criminal record.
- Genuine interest in the automotive industry.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical systems.
