    JOB DETAILS

    • Position: Deli Manager
    • Employment Type: Full-Time

     PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

    To lead and manage all deli operations (hot and cold food sections), ensuring strong sales performance, high-quality food production, excellent customer experience, and full compliance with food safety standards.

     KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

     Commercial & Financial Performance

    • Drive sales growth and profitability
    • Manage gross margins, costs, and waste control
    • Monitor daily sales, stock levels, and shrinkage
    • Align production with demand to minimise waste

     Production, Quality & Innovation

    • Ensure consistent food quality and presentation
    • Enforce recipe compliance and portion control
    • Introduce new and seasonal food products
    • Maintain freshness and proper stock rotation

     Customer Experience & Merchandising

    • Create an attractive and engaging deli display
    • Implement promotions and product displays effectively
    • Deliver excellent customer service
    • Respond to customer feedback and improve offerings

     Operational Excellence & Compliance

    • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations
    • Monitor food handling, temperature control, and quality checks
    • Manage staff schedules based on business needs
    • Improve processes for efficiency and performance

     Leadership & Team Development

    • Lead, coach, and develop deli staff
    • Build a high-performing and motivated team
    • Encourage accountability and continuous improvement

     Reporting & Control

    • Analyse sales, stock, and waste reports
    • Identify risks and growth opportunities
    • Maintain accurate records and reports

     MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Grade 12 (Matric)
    • Culinary or Hospitality qualification (Level 2)
    • 3–5 years’ experience in fresh food retail/deli environment
    • At least 2 years in a supervisory or management role
