Job Overview
Clover S.A. Proprietary Limited is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Controller for its Oranjesig branch in Bloemfontein.
The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring product quality, conducting inspections, identifying defects, and ensuring that manufacturing processes meet company standards and regulatory requirements. The role involves working closely with production teams to maintain high product quality and food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Control & Product Release
Test and release raw materials, interim products, and packaging materials according to company specifications.
Release final products after confirming compliance with quality standards.
Develop inspection test plans, release plans, and sampling plans according to company policy.
Identify and verify Critical Control Points (CCPs) for specific products.
Non-Conforming Product Management
Quarantine rejected raw materials, packaging, or products to prevent use in production.
Ensure rework products are removed from distribution stores and allocated for rework.
Ensure irrecoverable rejected products are destroyed or handled according to company policy.
Consumer Complaint Management
Monitor consumer complaints and recommend product withdrawals when necessary.
Conduct incident investigations with the Quality Assurance team.
Track complaint trends and implement corrective actions.
Quality Systems & Compliance
Participate in HACCP and QACCP teams.
Coordinate internal quality control audits.
Ensure all processes, products, and materials are traceable through traceability exercises.
Manage concession applications and ensure policy compliance when changes occur.
Process Control & Testing
Implement inspection test and release plans.
Manage sensory panels and product sensory evaluations.
Standardize measurements, testing points, and reporting processes.
Participate in management review meetings.
Training & Development
Train sensory panel personnel.
Train production staff on testing procedures and sampling methods.
Train internal auditors involved in quality control processes.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
Diploma / Advanced Certificate / Degree
1–3 years experience in:
Quality Control
Manufacturing / Production
FMCG environment
Experience with quality inspections, audits, and compliance processes
People management experience
Advanced computer literacy
Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
Fluent Business English
