    Purpose of the Position

    The Financial Adviser is responsible for attracting, acquiring, and retaining clients by providing suitable financial solutions that meet their needs. The role focuses on generating new business, achieving sales targets, building long-term client relationships, and providing ongoing after-sales service.

    The successful candidate will help individuals and families improve their financial security through products such as life insurance, funeral cover, retirement solutions, savings plans, and health-related insurance products.

    Key Responsibilities

    Client Acquisition and Sales

    • Identify and engage prospective clients.
    • Conduct needs analyses to understand clients’ financial goals.
    • Present and recommend suitable financial products and solutions.
    • Generate new business opportunities through networking and referrals.
    • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.

    Financial Advice and Planning

    • Assess clients’ financial situations and needs.
    • Provide advice on:
      • Life insurance
      • Funeral cover
      • Savings products
      • Retirement solutions
      • Hospital cash-back plans
      • Other Metropolitan products
    • Explain product features, benefits, and costs.
    • Ensure recommendations align with clients’ financial objectives.

    Client Relationship Management

    • Build and maintain long-term client relationships.
    • Provide ongoing support and after-sales service.
    • Conduct regular client reviews.
    • Respond to client queries and concerns promptly.
    • Encourage client retention and policy renewals.

    Administration and Record Keeping

    • Accurately capture client information.
    • Maintain complete and compliant client records.
    • Process applications and supporting documentation.
    • Update customer information as required.
    • Ensure all sales records are accurate and complete.

    Compliance and Risk Management

    • Adhere to:
      • FAIS requirements
      • Financial sector regulations
      • Company policies and procedures
    • Ensure all advice provided is compliant and suitable.
    • Complete required disclosures and documentation.
    • Maintain professional and ethical standards.

    Performance Management

    Minimum Requirements

    Qualifications

    • Matric / N4 Equivalent Qualification.

    Regulatory Requirements

    • FAIS requirements applicable to the candidate’s Date of First Appointment (DOFA).
    • Relevant Regulatory Examinations (RE) if already employed within the financial services industry.

    Experience

    • 1–2 years’ experience for candidates with an undergraduate qualification.
    • 2–3 years’ experience in a sales environment.

    Technical Requirements

    • Strong computer literacy.
    • Fluency in English.
