Purpose of the Tender
The South African Post Office seeks to appoint qualified security service providers to deliver guarding services across various postal facilities in the Free State Province. The successful bidder will provide security personnel to protect employees, customers, facilities, vehicles, equipment, and postal assets.
Scope of Work
The appointed service provider will be responsible for:
Guarding Services
- Providing armed and unarmed security guards.
- Securing postal facilities and assets.
- Controlling access to facilities.
- Monitoring premises during operational and non-operational hours.
- Conducting patrols and inspections.
- Reporting incidents and security breaches.
Coverage Requirements
Security services will be required for:
- Day shifts
- Night shifts
- Weekends
- Public holidays
- Emergency and ad hoc security requirements
Facilities Covered
Services may be required at facilities in:
- Bloemfontein
- Bethlehem
- Botshabelo
- Welkom
- Kroonstad
- Sasolburg
- Harrismith
- Virginia
- Vrede
- And several other Free State locations listed in the tender.
Technical Requirements
The successful bidder must:
- Supply trained security officers.
- Provide both armed and unarmed guards where required.
- Ensure guards work 12-hour shifts.
- Provide adequate supervision and management.
- Ensure compliance with all SAPO security specifications.
- Submit pricing for normal and ad hoc security requirements.
- Maintain security operations throughout the contract period.
Minimum Requirements for Bidders
Experience
- At least one (1) year experience providing guarding services within the last two (2) years.
Compliance Requirements
Security companies should generally demonstrate:
- Valid PSIRA registration.
- Compliance with labour legislation.
- Security industry accreditation and certifications.
- Trained and licensed security personnel.
- Good standing with relevant regulatory authorities.
