    Job Overview

    The Department of Human Settlements is inviting applications for the Graduate Internship Programme: Administrator – Affordable Housing. This 24-month internship is designed for graduates in Public Administration, Office Administration, or related fields who are looking to gain practical experience in the public sector.

    The successful intern will provide administrative support to the Affordable Housing unit, assisting with the coordination of housing programmes, records management, and general office administration while gaining valuable exposure to government operations.

    Key Responsibilities

    The successful intern will be expected to:

    • Provide administrative support to the Affordable Housing unit.
    • Assist with the coordination and implementation of affordable housing programmes.
    • Maintain filing systems, records, and administrative documentation.
    • Capture and update data on departmental information systems.
    • Prepare correspondence, reports, and other administrative documents.
    • Coordinate meetings and provide secretariat support when required.
    • Respond to enquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
    • Assist with the implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
    • Perform other administrative duties as assigned by supervisors.

    Minimum Requirements

    Applicants must have:

    • Grade 12 (Matric).
    • A minimum qualification at NQF Level 6 in:
      • Public Administration;
      • Office Administration; or
      • An equivalent qualification.
    • Basic knowledge of government prescripts and principles.
