    Job Description

    The successful candidate will lead the regional SME Banking business by developing and executing strategies that drive sustainable revenue growth, improve portfolio performance, and strengthen client relationships. The executive will oversee the delivery of a comprehensive suite of SME banking solutions, including lending, transactional banking, working capital finance, investments, and value-added services.

    This role requires close collaboration with multiple business units, including Credit, Risk, Product, Operations, and Coverage teams, to ensure seamless client service and commercial success.

    Key Responsibilities

    Strategic Leadership

    • Develop and execute the SME strategy for the Central Region.
    • Align regional objectives with Business Banking and Group strategic goals.
    • Identify growth opportunities within the SME market.
    • Drive long-term business sustainability and market expansion.

    Financial Performance and Profitability

    • Assume full Profit and Loss (P&L) accountability for the region.
    • Drive revenue growth and profitability across the SME portfolio.
    • Improve portfolio quality and financial performance.
    • Monitor key financial metrics and business outcomes.

    Client Relationship Management

    • Build, strengthen, and retain SME client relationships.
    • Deliver a client-centric value proposition.
    • Ensure the delivery of innovative and relevant financial solutions.
    • Support SME customers in achieving business growth objectives.

    Leadership and People Management

    • Lead and inspire regional SME banking teams.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, inclusion, and high performance.
    • Develop leadership capability within the region.
    • Drive employee engagement and talent development.

    Stakeholder Management

    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across:
      • Credit
      • Risk
      • Product
      • Operations
      • Coverage Teams
    • Build effective partnerships that improve customer outcomes.
    • Influence strategic decisions across business units.

    Performance Management

    • Translate business strategy into measurable operational targets.
    • Monitor performance against agreed objectives.
    • Drive execution excellence throughout the region.
    • Implement corrective actions where required.

    Lending

    • Business loans

    Investment and Value-Added Services

    • Investment solutions

    • Business support platforms

    Minimum Requirements

    Qualifications

    Essential

    • Honours Bachelor’s Degree in:
      • Business
      • Commerce
      • Management Studies
      • Related field

    Preferred

    • Master of Business Administration (MBA)

    Experience

    Essential

    • Minimum 15 years of experience in financial services.
    • Significant experience in commercial banking and sales leadership.

    Leadership Experience

    • At least 5 years’ experience at Executive level.
    • Experience managing large teams.
    • Proven track record of delivering financial and customer outcomes.
