    Job Description

    The appointed contractor will be responsible for constructing a new facebrick wall fence and refurbishing existing ablution facilities at the Harvey Road premises in Bloemfontein.

    The contractor will provide all labour, materials, equipment, supervision, and project management services required to complete the project in accordance with approved specifications, applicable building regulations, quality standards, and occupational health and safety requirements.

    The contractor will be expected to complete all works within the agreed project schedule while maintaining high standards of workmanship and site safety.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Construct a facebrick boundary wall fence around the designated property.
    • Refurbish existing ablution facilities.
    • Prepare and establish the construction site.
    • Supply all labour, construction materials, tools, plant, and equipment required for the project.
    • Carry out bricklaying and masonry works.
    • Complete demolition and removal of defective building components where required.
    • Perform plastering, painting, tiling, and finishing works as part of the ablution refurbishment.
    • Install or repair plumbing fixtures and sanitary fittings where required.
    • Complete repairs to walls, floors, ceilings, doors, and windows as specified.
    • Ensure all construction work complies with approved specifications and building standards.
    • Supervise construction personnel and subcontractors.
    • Coordinate daily site activities and project operations.
    • Implement quality assurance and quality control procedures.
    • Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) legislation and Construction Regulations.
    • Maintain a safe and secure construction site.
    • Monitor project progress and ensure completion within agreed timelines.
    • Conduct site inspections and rectify defects.
    • Maintain accurate project records, reports, and construction documentation.

    Requirements

    Minimum Requirements

    • Valid CIDB Grade 3 GB registration or higher.
    • Proven experience in general building construction and refurbishment projects.
    • Experience in constructing facebrick walls and refurbishing building facilities.
    • Attendance at the compulsory clarification meeting.
    • Submission of the tender using the prescribed tender documentation.
    • Ability to complete the project within the required timeframe.
    • Compliance with all tender specifications and contractual obligations.
