Job Overview
The Department of Health is inviting applications for a Clinical Nurse Practitioner Grade 1–2 (PNB1) position in the Mangaung Metro District. This role is suited to an experienced Professional Nurse who is committed to providing high-quality primary healthcare services, patient education, and community health support.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care, supporting health promotion initiatives, maintaining clinical standards, and contributing to the efficient operation of healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing quality, comprehensive community healthcare services.
- Delivering professional nursing care in accordance with departmental policies and SANC regulations.
- Performing administrative duties related to patient care and clinical services.
- Providing health education to patients, families, and community members.
- Ensuring the proper use, maintenance, and safekeeping of medical equipment and machinery.
- Participating in research activities and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintaining accurate patient records and preparing required reports.
- Promoting teamwork and collaboration within the healthcare facility.
- Ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and best nursing practices.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 (Matric) or an equivalent qualification.
- A Basic R425 qualification (Diploma or Degree in Nursing) or an equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
- Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
- A post-basic nursing qualification of at least one year, accredited with SANC in terms of Government Notice No. R212 in the relevant speciality.
- A minimum of four (4) years’ appropriate and recognisable nursing experience after registration as a Professional Nurse.
