The successful candidate will manage building maintenance, equipment, and technical staff while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and operational standards. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the hospital’s technical infrastructure remains reliable, safe, and compliant.

Responsibilities:
Oversee the management and maintenance of the hospital’s building, plant, and equipment
Lead and support technical projects
Identify and mitigate technical operations risks
Supervise on-site contractors and suppliers
Ensure quality management and continuous improvement in technical operations
Foster stakeholder relations and uphold high client service standards
Manage and lead the technical team effectively
Oversee department finances and budgeting
Qualifications:
Essential Education:
NQF Level 6 qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
Must have passed Thermodynamics and Electro Technology at 2nd-year level
Essential Certification:
Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport
Desired Experience:
Minimum 4 years’ post-graduate engineering experience, particularly with HVAC and auxiliary electrical power supply systems
Experience in facility management (advantageous)
Required Skills and Knowledge:
Building maintenance and technical plant operations
Preventative maintenance, fault finding, and troubleshooting
Project and people management
Financial management and budgeting principles
Quality management and operational improvement (e.g., LEAN principles)
Competent person as per General Machinery Regulations (OHS Act 85 of 1993)
Proficient in report writing and verbal/written communication
Strong computer skills (MS Office suite)
Ability to use mechanical tools and machinery
