Responsibilities:
-
Manage the development, alignment, and implementation of academic curriculum in assigned disciplines.
-
Conduct and supervise both theoretical and practical classes, including lectures, tutorials, and assessments.
-
Oversee curriculum quality control, peer reviews, assessments, and moderation according to Council for Higher Education Standards.
-
Provide academic support and guidance to students; evaluate teaching outcomes through feedback and performance analysis.
-
Facilitate and manage the delivery of short courses and vocational training in collaboration with Further Education and Training (FET) institutions.
-
Oversee applied research activities by academic staff and incorporate research findings into training materials.
-
Engage with farmers and stakeholders through advisory services and field-based learning.
-
Participate in strategic and operational planning, time-table coordination, and governance committee meetings.
-
Manage human resources, including supervising and developing subordinate staff, conducting performance reviews, and maintaining discipline.

Monitor departmental expenditures, asset utilization, and compliance with public service and academic regulations.

Organize and participate in college events such as open days, career fairs, and community outreach.

Remain up to date with relevant educational and agricultural policies, technologies, and developments.
Qualifications:
-
NQF Level 9 (Master’s) Degree in Agriculture.

Minimum 6 years of lecturing experience in a higher education environment.
-
Valid driver’s license.
-
Recommended: Postgraduate Certificate in Education, Diploma in Higher Education, or related qualification.

Registration as an Assessor and Moderator is required or will be an added advantage.
