    Eligibility Criteria:

    • Continuous excellent academic performance in all first-year modules.

    • Overall average above 60%, with 65% or higher in mathematical and actuarial modules.

    • Good leadership qualities and participation in extracurricular activities (sports, debating, academic competitions, etc.) is an advantage.

    • South African citizen by birth or descent.

    Purpose of the Bursary Programme:


    To support talented students pursuing a career in actuarial science by providing specialist knowledge, mentorship, and practical exposure, enabling them to deliver sound commercial advice through the application of probability, investment theory, and statistical tools.

    Key Responsibilities for Vacation Work & Graduate Placement:

    • Conduct actuarial and statistical analyses to support management decisions.

    • Apply research methodologies to gather and assess information.

    • Perform data checking, validation, and model building.

    • Build understanding of statutory reserving, IFRS reporting, and product pricing.

    • Adhere to actuarial standards, company policies, and governance frameworks.
