Bursary Overview
Eskom is inviting ambitious and talented South African matriculants to apply for its Non-Technical Degree Bursary Programme for the 2027 intake.
The programme provides financial support to students pursuing bachelor’s degrees in a range of non-technical disciplines that contribute to the energy sector and Eskom’s broader operations.
Important: This opportunity is strictly for current Grade 12 learners or candidates who matriculated in 2025 and will commence their first year of tertiary studies in 2027.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be a South African citizen.
- Have Grade 11 final results or a Grade 12 certificate.
- Be eligible for admission to an applicable bachelor’s degree at a recognised public South African university.
- Provide conditional university acceptance for one of the specified disciplines, if available.
- Not currently hold another bursary.
Selection Criteria
Selection will be based on:
- Grade 11 final results or Grade 12 certificate.
- Meeting the admission requirements for an applicable bachelor’s degree.
- Acceptance into a recognised public South African university.
- Final 2026 matric results.
Important Information
Grade 11 year-end results meeting the specified requirements will be considered during the initial selection process. However, the final bursary decision will depend on the applicant’s 2026 matric results.
Applicants may also be required to undergo a psychometric assessment.
