    Job Overview

    Eduvos is seeking an Academic Content Writer/Developer with expertise in Social Sciences for the Senior and Further Education and Training (FET) phases. The successful candidate will develop, review, and maintain academic content, study materials, assessments, and online learning resources for the Humanities Department.

    This role is ideal for experienced Social Science educators, curriculum developers, instructional designers, and academic writers who have a strong understanding of secondary school education and curriculum development.

    Purpose of the Role

    The purpose of this position is to provide content development and academic writing services by creating high-quality educational resources and assessments that align with Eduvos academic standards and programme specifications.

    Key Responsibilities

    Learning Material Development

    • Develop study guides, learner resources, and academic content.
    • Create assessments aligned with programme outcomes and NQF standards.
    • Collaborate with subject matter experts through communities of practice.
    • Ensure content aligns with Eduvos branding and academic requirements.
    • Follow approved content development processes and guidelines.

    Quality Assurance

    • Submit developed content for moderation and review.
    • Address recommendations and feedback from moderators.
    • Ensure academic accuracy, quality, and consistency.
    • Prepare content for copy-editing and publication.

    Learning Management System (LMS) Administration

    • Upload and release learning materials on Moodle or similar platforms.
    • Manage and maintain module pages.
    • Support the creation of interactive online learning experiences.
    • Assist with content ingestion and digital content management.

    Content Maintenance

    • Review and update existing learning materials.
    • Revise assessments to maintain curriculum relevance.
    • Resolve content-related queries.
    • Ensure content remains aligned with educational standards and curriculum changes.

    Minimum Requirements

    Qualifications

    Applicants must possess:

    • Bachelor of Education (BEd) in Senior Phase and FET Teaching
    • Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)

    Preferred Qualification

    • Master’s Degree in Sociology or a related Social Science discipline

    Experience Requirements

    Essential

    • Minimum 2–3 years teaching experience in a Secondary School environment.
    • Experience teaching within:
      • Senior Phase
      • Further Education and Training (FET) Phase

    Advantageous Experience

    • Moodle or other Learning Management Systems (LMS).
    • Interactive online content development.
    • Assessment design and moderation.
    • Academic publishing and journal publications.
    • Curriculum and instructional design.
