Job Purpose
The Head of HR Shared Services is responsible for leading and managing Eduvos’ centralized HR operations function. The role focuses on delivering efficient, compliant, customer-focused HR services across the employee lifecycle while ensuring seamless integration of payroll, HR systems, administration, reporting, compliance, and digital transformation initiatives.
The position plays a strategic leadership role in building a scalable HR Shared Services model that supports Eduvos’ growth and operational excellence objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. HR Shared Services Strategy
- Develop and implement the HR Shared Services operating model.
- Drive centralisation and standardisation of HR processes.
- Establish and manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Lead HR digital transformation and automation initiatives.
- Improve efficiency and service delivery across the organisation.
2. HR Operations & Administration
- Oversee end-to-end employee lifecycle administration.
- Ensure HR transactions are processed accurately and efficiently.
- Monitor turnaround times and service quality.
- Standardise HR procedures and workflows.
3. Payroll Management & Integration
- Ensure effective integration between HR and payroll systems.
- Oversee payroll governance and compliance controls.
- Drive payroll accuracy and process improvements.
- Minimise payroll-related risks and errors.
4. HR Systems, Data & Reporting
- Manage and optimise HR Information Systems (HRIS).
- Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security.
- Develop dashboards and HR analytics reports.
- Support data-driven decision-making.
5. Employee Experience & Service Delivery
- Deliver a high-quality HR service experience.
- Monitor service standards and SLA performance.
- Promote a customer-centric HR culture.
- Improve employee satisfaction with HR services.
6. Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with labour legislation.
- Maintain audit-ready HR records and documentation.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with POPIA and employment regulations.
7. Employment Equity Management
- Ensure compliance with the Employment Equity Act.
- Manage EEA2 and EEA4 reporting requirements.
- Support Employment Equity audits and submissions.
- Monitor EE targets and implementation plans.
8. HR Policy Development
- Develop, review, and maintain HR policies.
- Ensure policies comply with labour legislation.
- Maintain a central HR policy repository.
- Promote consistent policy implementation across campuses.
9. Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process optimisation.
- Implement automation and efficiency initiatives.
- Lead organisational change management projects.
- Enhance operational effectiveness.
10. Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and develop the HR Shared Services team.
- Foster accountability and service excellence.
- Manage team performance and capability development.
- Build a culture of continuous improvement.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Human Resources
- Industrial Psychology
- Business Administration
Preferred Qualification
- Postgraduate qualification in HR, Business, or related field.
Experience Required
Essential
- 8–10 years’ HR experience.
- Extensive experience in HR Operations or Shared Services.
- Experience working with payroll systems and HRIS platforms.
- Proven leadership and people management experience.
Preferred
- Experience within higher education institutions.
- Experience in multi-campus environments.
- Exposure to large-scale HR transformation projects.
