What You’ll Do:
As part of the Maternity team, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing comprehensive nursing care to maternity patients in line with clinical standards.
- Acting as a shift leader in the unit, coordinating patient care and ensuring smooth operations.
- Managing patient records in compliance with healthcare legislation.
- Ensuring effective management of stock, equipment, and resources to deliver cost-effective care.
- Contributing to the training and research within the nursing services, enhancing both patient outcomes and the team’s capabilities.
What We’re Looking For:
We are seeking nurses who are not only skilled but also passionate about maternal health. The ideal candidate will have:
- Diploma/Degree in nursing with registration as a Professional Nurse with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
- Post-basic nursing qualification in Advanced Midwifery and Neonatal Nursing Science, accredited with SANC.
- Current registration with SANC and at least 4 years of experience in nursing for Grade 1 posts. For Grade 2 posts, at least 14 years of relevant experience, with 10 years after obtaining the post-basic qualification.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict management skills, along with basic computer literacy.
- A valid driver’s license.
