Job Overview:
Sapientis Talent Management is seeking experienced and professional Theatre Scrub Registered Nurses to join their dynamic healthcare teams on a part-time, locum, or shift-work basis. Key Responsibilities:

Assist surgeons by scrubbing in during theatre operations

Prepare and manage surgical instruments, consumables, and equipment

Ensure strict adherence to infection prevention and control protocols

Conduct accurate instrument and swab counts pre- and post-operation
-
Collaborate effectively with anaesthetic, recovery, and nursing teams

Provide guidance and support to junior nursing staff and students
Minimum Requirements:
-
Registered Nurse with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)

Diploma or Degree in General Nursing
-
Minimum 2 years of theatre scrub experience

Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and instrumentation

Ability to remain calm and communicate clearly under pressure

Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and be on-call as required
Preferred Qualifications / Advantages:

Post-basic qualification in Theatre Nursing (advantageous)

Experience in private or tertiary hospitals

Exposure to multiple surgical specialties (e.g., orthopaedics, plastics, dental, gastroenterology)

Valid BLS or ALS certification
