Role Overview
Motus Ford & Mazda is seeking a qualified, experienced Specialist Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain Ford vehicles. This is a senior technical role requiring in-depth mechanical and electrical diagnostic expertise, a commitment to quality service, and adherence to manufacturer standards.
The position focuses on ensuring customer satisfaction, technical excellence, and “fix right first time” performance.
Key Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in Ford vehicles

Perform routine maintenance services and inspections

Conduct test drives to confirm correct operation

Maintain accurate service and repair records

Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical faults

Stay current with OEM and Ford training and technologies

Work efficiently within manufacturer time guidelines

Liaise with service advisors and customers, explaining work done and issues found

Ensure vehicles are returned clean, safe, and properly repaired

Complete all mandatory Ford/Motus training (online, classroom, or hybrid formats)
Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as an automotive technician (Ford experience preferred)
- ASE certification or relevant OEM qualifications (advantageous)
- Proven ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems
- Excellent troubleshooting, attention to detail, and “fix right first time” record
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and manufacturer software
- Valid driver’s license
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Strong technical insight and accurate job card documentation
