Overview:
Assupol Life seeks an experienced, driven Sales Manager to lead a team of sales representatives and brokers. This role involves strategic planning, recruitment, training, compliance oversight, and maintaining strong business relationships to grow market presence and ensure sustainable business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Sales & Marketing Management
Develop, implement, and continuously improve an integrated sales and marketing plan aligned with regional objectives.
Monitor progress and compile regular reports on strategic initiatives.
Communicate sales strategies and expectations clearly to the sales team.
Recruitment, Training & Development
Recruit sales representatives in line with FSCA requirements using approved assessments.
Facilitate pre- and post-course training and conduct on-the-job assessments.
Coach representatives to improve selling skills and maintain consistent performance.
Provide technical support, motivation, and recognition to team members.
Broker Support & Relationship Building
Train brokers on products, processes, and documentation.
Ensure brokers have updated tools, software, and application materials.
Handle administrative queries and guide brokers on best business practices.
Build and maintain professional relationships to strengthen market presence.
Market Development
Identify and penetrate new markets while growing existing ones.
Secure stop order markets and maintain relationships with key decision-makers.
Conduct product presentations and support strategies to increase market share.
Business Retention & Performance Management
Achieve and monitor production targets.
Drive business retention initiatives and ensure FAIS-compliant supervision of representatives.
Submit monthly supervision evidence and ensure representatives understand products thoroughly.
Compliance & Governance
Address customer complaints appropriately and escalate cases when necessary.
Ensure adherence to TCF principles, company values, risk, and audit requirements.
Provide leadership to ensure team alignment with compliance standards.

Matric (required)
Relevant FSCA-recognised qualification
FAIS Regulatory Exams:
RE5 (Representatives)
RE1 (Key Individuals)
Class of Business: Long Term Insurance & Investments
CPD compliance
Experience
1 year management/oversight experience in categories A, B1, B2, C, B1-A, B2-A, retail pension funds
2 years project management experience
2 years insurance industry experience
At least 1 year advice/intermediary experience in the listed categories
Skills & Competencies
Strong leadership and coaching abilities
Good communication and presentation skills
Ability to develop and implement strategic plans
Regulatory and compliance knowledge (FAIS, TCF)
Strong relationship-building with brokers and market stakeholders
Ability to track and achieve sales targets
