Minimum Requirements
Essential:
Grade 12 / Matric
BPharm or equivalent qualification
Registered with SAPC (South African Pharmacy Council)
2–3 years pharmaceutical experience (includes student/intern retail pharmacy experience)
Computer literate (MS Office)
Advantageous:
Retail/FMCG experience
Third additional language
Experience with: SAP, Unisolv, E-scripting
Registered tutor status
Key Responsibilities
Deliver pharmaceutical care: assess patients’ medicine-related needs
Dispense medication according to legal and ethical standards
Sign off/check prescriptions prepared by assistants/interns
Provide medicine-related information and advice
Monitor and promote patient compliance
Provide pharmacist-initiated therapy
Compound, manipulate, or supervise preparation of medicines
Manage procurement, storage, and distribution of medicine
Handle medical aid claims and related admin
Assist Dispensary Manager with operational duties and stock control
Maintain systems (e.g., script capturing, customer profiles)
Ensure housekeeping, safety, and legal compliance
Skills and Competencies
Fluent in English and a second language
Strong communication and customer service
Knowledge of drug interactions and basic dosing
Attention to detail and accuracy
Leadership and training abilities
Problem-solving and time management
Conflict resolution and teamwork
Computer literacy (MS Office)
Special Conditions
Must be SAPC-registered
Willing to work retail hours
Fit to work standing long hours
Own reliable transport and valid driver’s license
South African citizen
Clear credit and criminal record
