Job Purpose
To ensure the efficient, compliant operation of the dispensary while delivering high standards of pharmaceutical care and service excellence. The role supports sales targets, legal compliance, customer loyalty, and Clicks’ competitive advantage as a leading health and beauty retailer.
Key Responsibilities / Job Objectives
Pharmaceutical Care & Dispensing

Provide accurate, safe dispensing of medication in line with SAPC regulations

Perform generic substitution and professional patient counselling
-
Ensure ethical practice within the legal scope of pharmacy
Dispensary Operations & Compliance
-
Execute all dispensary operational activities efficiently

Manage stock responsibly, including shrinkage and housekeeping
-
Maintain accurate administration in line with SAPC and company standards
-
Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and merchandising requirements
Performance, Sales & Targets

Drive core dispensary and clinic targets

Support the operational viability and profitability of the dispensary

Promote customer loyalty initiatives, including ClubCard participation
People Development & Leadership

Train and develop Pharmacist Assistants and Pharmacist Interns when required

Ensure staff competence and motivation in line with SAPC requirements

Provide coaching and professional guidance
Customer Experience & Stakeholder Management

Deliver excellent customer service and patient care

Build strong relationships with centre management, suppliers, and distribution centres

Work in partnership with the clinic and healthcare aisle to provide integrated healthcare services

Minimum Requirements
Education & Registration
-
Essential: Registered Pharmacist with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)
Experience
-
Desirable: Retail pharmacy experience
