Job Purpose
To ensure the efficient and compliant operation of the dispensary while delivering high standards of pharmaceutical care and service excellence. The role supports sales, compliance, and customer loyalty, contributing to Clicks’ competitive advantage as a leading health and beauty retailer.
Key Responsibilities / Job Objectives
Pharmaceutical Care & Dispensing

Provide accurate, safe, and responsible dispensing of medication

Perform generic substitution and professional counselling in line with SAPC regulations
-
Deliver pharmaceutical care within the legal scope of practice

Ensure ethical and compliant pharmacy operations
Dispensary Operations & Compliance
-
Manage all dispensary operational activities efficiently
-
Ensure proper stock control, shrinkage management, and housekeeping
-
Maintain accurate administration in line with SAPC and company standards
-
Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and company policies
Performance, Sales & Targets

Focus on achieving core dispensary and clinic targets

Support operational viability and profitability of the dispensary

Drive customer loyalty initiatives, including ClubCard participation
People Development & Leadership

Oversee training and development of Pharmacist Assistants and Pharmacist Interns (when required)

Ensure staff competence and motivation in line with SAPC requirements

Provide coaching and mentorship to support professional growth
Customer Experience & Stakeholder Engagement

Deliver excellent customer service and patient care

Build strong working relationships with centre management, suppliers, and distribution centres

Collaborate with in-store clinics and healthcare aisles to provide a holistic healthcare offering

Minimum Requirements
Education & Registration
-
Essential: Registered Pharmacist with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)
Experience

Desirable: Retail pharmacy experience
