Who Can Apply?
South African citizens who are:

Accepted, registered, or applying to study a full programme in:

Disaster Management, OR
-
Fire Technology / Fire Engineering
-
-
Studying at a public higher education institution in South Africa.

Pursuing one of the following levels of study:

Undergraduate
-
Post-Graduate Diploma
-
Advanced Diploma
-
Master’s
-
Note: Certificate and PhD programmes are not eligible.
Required Documents
For Undergraduate / Post-Graduate / Advanced Diploma:

Certified copy of SA ID
-
Certified copy of Matric Certificate
-
Most recent academic transcript or results (minimum 60% average)
-
Proof of application, acceptance, or registration for a full programme
For Master’s Students:
-
Certified copy of SA ID
-
Certified copy of Matric Certificate
-
Most recent academic transcript (minimum 65% average)
-
Brief CV (max 2 pages)
-
Proof of application, acceptance, or registration for a full programme

Master’s Research Proposal aligned with one of the NDMC’s 16 Priority Thematic Areas

What the Bursary Covers

100% tuition and registration fees
-
Research allowance (for Master’s students only, capped at R11,000)
