    Purpose of the Role:

    To lead the Liquor Store operations by managing merchandising, customer service, people development, inventory control, and financial performance. The manager ensures compliance with company standards, safety protocols, and liquor regulations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Merchandising Management

    • Execute planogram guides 100%

    • Ensure stock rotation (FIFO) on the floor and backup areas

    • Maintain merchandising, promotional space, and cleanliness standards throughout the day

    • Maintain proper stock levels on floor and back-up

    • Escalate ongoing stock issues to the Store Manager

    • Enforce Health & Safety standards as per SOP

    • Communicate customer demand to Demand Planning team

    Systems Management

    • Scan for gaps and out-of-stock items

    • Count and record stock imbalances (over/under)

    • Use SAP to draw reports, process IDTs and reduce-to-clear items

    • Communicate with demand planning using SAP reports

    • Check and respond to electronic communications regularly

    Customer Service Management

    • Handle customer complaints and special requests

    • Offer product recommendations/advice to customers

    • Drive customer satisfaction and retention through excellent service

    People Management & Development

    • Evaluate team performance against KPIs

    • Assist with staff scheduling

    • Communicate store and department goals/performance

    • Identify and address training needs

    • Coach and motivate team members

    Finance & Administration

    • Ensure maintenance of all equipment

    • Monitor and control departmental expenses and waste

    • Ensure maintenance requests are followed up and standards are met

    • Investigate and resolve budget deviations

    Minimum Requirements:

    Requirement Status
    Matric (Grade 12)  Required
    2+ years in a supervisory role  Required
    Experience in a Liquor/Wine Department or Retail Department Management  Advantageous
    Proficiency in SAP and retail systems Preferred
