Overview:
A prestigious Luxury Game Reserve near Bloemfontein is seeking an experienced and passionate Guide / Front of House Couple to join its hospitality and guiding team. This live-in opportunity is perfect for a professional couple who thrive in a luxury safari environment and are committed to delivering unforgettable guest experiences.
Guide Responsibilities:
Conduct guided game drives, bush walks, and other wildlife activities, ensuring guest safety at all times.
Provide engaging and informative commentary about wildlife, flora, birdlife, and conservation practices.
Professionally host guests during activities, meals, and sundowners.
Perform routine vehicle maintenance, equipment care, and ensure readiness for drives.
Maintain compliance with game drive and firearm handling protocols.
Respond appropriately to emergencies in line with company procedures.
Assist with general camp duties, including guest transfers, luggage handling, and maintenance support.
Guide Requirements:
Valid South African Guide Licence and PDP (Professional Driving Permit).
FGASA NQF 4 qualification with Backup Trails (Lead Trails beneficial).
Minimum of 3 years’ Big 5 guiding experience.
Valid First Aid certificate (trauma care).
Excellent communication and hosting skills.
Professional, guest-focused, and enthusiastic personality.
Self-disciplined, punctual, and able to work effectively in a team.
Basic mechanical knowledge and understanding of radio communication.
Front of House (FOH) Responsibilities:
Greet and welcome guests, ensuring a warm and professional first impression.
Ensure tables are correctly set with linen, silverware, and glassware.
Provide efficient and friendly food and beverage service during meals.
Maintain effective communication between the kitchen and service staff.
Possess full menu and beverage knowledge to guide guest choices.
Uphold cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation standards throughout dining and guest areas.
Assist with stock control, rotation, and basic administration when required.
Front of House (FOH) Requirements:
Previous hospitality experience, ideally as a waiter, host, or floor manager.
Strong guest relations and customer service abilities.
Enthusiastic, hard-working, and willing to learn.
Knowledge of food, wine, and beverage service standards.
Understanding of menu ingredients and preparation methods.
Professional appearance and high attention to detail.
