Overview:
EvR Consulting, on behalf of one of South Africa’s fastest-growing pharmaceutical companies, is seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Doctor Detailing Sales Representative (Rx). The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting and detailing the company’s prescription pharmaceutical products to healthcare professionals within a designated territory. This role focuses on building trusted relationships with medical practitioners, increasing product awareness, and driving ethical sales performance that contributes to improved patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Product Detailing & Education
Present and detail pharmaceutical products to doctors and other healthcare professionals.
Communicate complex medical and scientific information in a clear, accurate, and engaging manner.
Conduct product demonstrations and presentations as required.
2. Relationship Building & Territory Management
Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with healthcare providers.
Plan and execute territory coverage strategies to meet sales objectives.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the healthcare landscape, competitors, and market trends.
3. Sales & Performance Monitoring
Achieve assigned sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Prepare and submit accurate activity and sales reports.
Identify new business opportunities within the medical community.
4. Training & Development
Stay informed on new product information, medical advancements, and company updates.
Participate in ongoing training sessions to enhance product knowledge and sales techniques.
5. Compliance & Ethics
Adhere strictly to ethical sales practices and company compliance policies.
Ensure all interactions with healthcare professionals align with regulatory and legal standards.
6. Pharmacovigilance
Report any adverse drug reactions or product-related safety concerns in accordance with company and legal requirements.
Qualifications & Skills:
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in a medical science field, such as:
Pharmacology
Biochemistry
Biomedical Science
Microbiology
Or a related discipline
Skills & Attributes:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to absorb and articulate complex medical information effectively.
Highly self-motivated, results-driven, and disciplined.
Strong presentation and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Effective time management and territory planning abilities.
Other Requirements:
Valid driver’s license.
Willingness to travel within assigned territory.
