Role Overview:
The Contract Administrator will oversee the full lifecycle of university contracts, ensuring proper development, monitoring, compliance, close-out, and renewals. The role requires strong administrative capabilities, accurate documentation, and effective communication with internal stakeholders, legal services, and suppliers. The candidate will also maintain essential contract registers and support procurement operations and committee engagements.
Key Responsibilities:

Administer the complete contract lifecycle (drafting, tracking, monitoring, closing out, and renewal).

Communicate contract requirements and updates to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.

Monitor contract performance and compliance with institutional and legal frameworks.

Work closely with Legal Services to draft and finalise contracts, SLAs, and related agreements.

Serve as the primary internal contact point for contract-related inquiries.

Maintain and update the Contract Register, Contract Risk Register, and Commitment Register.

Support Supplier Relationship Management initiatives.

Provide administrative and operational support to the Procurement Unit, including participation in committee meetings.

Ensure accurate information management, record keeping, and secure handling of documentation.
Key Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Diploma (NQF 6) or Degree (NQF 7) in one of the following fields:

Supply Chain Management

Procurement

Logistics
-
Public Management/Administration
-
Finance / Accounting / Audit
-
Law
-
Business Management/Administration
-
Or a related field
Minimum Experience
At least 2 years’ experience in:

Contract Administration / Management

Procurement / SCM

Law
(Experience may be from public or private sector)
Advantage:

Additional Requirements

Strong knowledge of the contract lifecycle and contract management processes.

Understanding of Procurement/SCM frameworks (PFMA, PPPFA, Treasury Regulations – assumed).

Proficiency in MS Office and other relevant systems.

Understanding of POPIA and data privacy requirements.
