Job Overview
Sanlam Developing Markets (SDM), a subsidiary of Sanlam Life Limited, is seeking an experienced Branch Manager to lead and grow the Sanlam Retail Mass (SRM) branch.
The role focuses on driving sales growth, leading a high-performance team, ensuring operational excellence, and delivering an outstanding client experience while maintaining compliance and risk standards.
Key Responsibilities
Branch Growth & Strategy
Develop and implement the retail branch strategy
Grow customer base and revenue
Oversee execution of sales plans
Drive a strong service culture
Conduct monthly sales and service planning
Submit accurate reports on branch performance
Team Leadership & People Management
Lead, guide, and standardise activities of Sales Consultants
Align branch goals with company strategy
Manage performance, development, and capacity of staff
Handle grievances and leave management
Collaborate with HR on talent management and development
Motivate and drive the team to exceed targets
Stakeholder & Relationship Management
Engage Area Managers, Business Owners, community forums, and activation sites
Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships
Promote a service delivery ecosystem inside and outside the branch
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure adherence to regulatory frameworks and company policies
Maintain quality and compliance standards
Manage operational risk within the branch
Ensure CPD compliance and regulatory accreditation
Education & Experience Requirements
Matric (Grade 12)
RE1 and RE5 qualifications
120 Wealth Management credits OR FSCA-recognised tertiary qualification
Class of Business accreditation (annual requirement)
CPD compliance (current and past cycles)
Minimum 5 years industry experience
At least 3 years in leadership
Service management experience (essential)
Insurance sales experience
Credit and lending experience
