Tender Description
The Department of Health Free State is inviting suitably qualified contractors to submit quotations for mechanical work associated with the Doctors’ Quarters supporting the Clinical Education and Training Unit (CETU) and Occupational Health Clinic at Universitas Academic Hospital in Bloemfontein.
The project requires a contractor with the appropriate CIDB grading and technical capacity to undertake the required mechanical installations and associated works in accordance with the official tender specifications and hospital requirements.
Scope of Work
The successful contractor will be responsible for mechanical works and associated infrastructure required for the Doctors’ Quarters, including:
- Mechanical installations and related building services.
- Labour, materials, plant and equipment required to complete the works.
- Plumbing and water-supply installations.
- Drainage and related services.
- HVAC and other mechanical systems where specified.
- Coordination of mechanical works with associated building infrastructure.
- Supervision and management of work on site.
- Ensuring completed installations are functional and compliant with applicable requirements.
- Working safely within an operational hospital environment.
Requirements
Prospective bidders should meet the following requirements:
- Minimum CIDB grading of 1ME or higher.
- Demonstrated capacity and experience in mechanical engineering or mechanical services works.
- Appropriate technical personnel, including competent artisans, foremen and site management.
- Ability to supply the required labour, materials, plant and supervision.
- Ability to coordinate construction and mechanical activities within an active healthcare facility.
- Compliance with all specifications and conditions contained in the official tender documentation.
- Submission of the tender strictly using the documentation issued by the Department of Health Free State.
- Attendance at the compulsory clarification meeting.
