Job Description
The Quality Assurance Graduate will support the Quality Assurance Team in ensuring software solutions meet business and technical requirements. The role involves planning and executing manual software testing, recording and tracking defects, analysing test results, preparing progress reports, and contributing to the continuous improvement of software quality in line with VKB’s Quality Assurance Framework and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Software Testing
- Develop an understanding of VKB’s Software Quality Assurance Methodology and Framework.
- Execute business-as-usual (BAU) and project-related testing activities.
- Perform manual software testing according to established QA standards.
- Verify that software solutions meet business and technical requirements.
Defect Management
- Identify, log, and track software defects.
- Assist with defect resolution and system improvements.
- Analyse test results to identify recurring defects and trends.
- Support continuous software quality improvement initiatives.
Reporting and Documentation
- Report on the progress of testing activities using defined metrics.
- Prepare structured testing reports and documentation.
- Maintain accurate testing records and defect logs.
Learning and Development
- Attend all required QA, system design, and functionality training.
- Stay informed about software testing best practices and industry trends.
- Continuously develop technical and professional knowledge.
Stakeholder Support
- Provide professional support to business stakeholders.
- Contribute to a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and service excellence.
- Work collaboratively with the Quality Assurance Team and other departments.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- A Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Information Technology, or
- Business Studies, or
- A related field (preferred).
- A combination of Information Technology and Commerce subjects will be advantageous.
Alternative Requirement:
- Candidates with at least two years of relevant experience within the VKB Group may also be considered, even without a formal tertiary qualification.
Advantageous Qualifications and Experience
