Tender Objective
Transnet Property seeks to appoint a qualified service provider to deliver comprehensive cleaning services across its properties in the KZN Midlands and surrounding areas for a period of 36 months. The objective is to maintain clean, safe, and hygienic facilities while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and operational standards.
Scope of Work
The successful service provider will be responsible for:
- Providing cleaning services for properties with a minimum gross lettable area of 20,000 m².
- General commercial cleaning.
- Carpet cleaning.
- Upholstery cleaning.
- Managing cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Safe storage, labelling, decanting, and disposal of chemicals.
- Transporting cleaning staff to remote depots where required.
- Preparing service implementation plans and method statements.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
- Managing cleaning staff, labour relations, and workforce planning.
- Monitoring service quality and reporting performance.
- Conducting audits and maintaining quality standards.
Technical Requirements
Bidders must submit:
- A comprehensive service implementation plan, including:
- Staffing arrangements
- Transport plans
- Communication procedures
- Chemical management
- Safety measures
- CVs of key personnel with experience managing commercial cleaning contracts for large facilities.
- A Health and Safety Plan or project-specific risk assessment.
- A detailed cleaning method statement covering:
- Cleaning procedures
- PPE requirements
- Equipment maintenance
- Performance monitoring (KPIs)
- Evidence of previous similar contracts through appointment letters, contracts, purchase orders, or reference letters.
Skills and Experience Required
The successful bidder should demonstrate:
- Experience managing large-scale commercial cleaning operations.
