Job Description
The University of the Free State is building a pool of qualified professional nurses to be called upon for part-time, short-term (ad hoc) work at its Health and Wellness Centre.
Successful candidates will not be permanently employed but will be contacted when there is a need for hourly clinical support. The role focuses on delivering quality primary healthcare services to students and supporting campus health initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional clinical services at the Primary Health Care Clinic
- Attend to medical emergencies within the clinic
- Capture and maintain accurate patient records on the electronic system
- Assist with first aid services during campus sports events
- Support general clinic operations as directed by the line manager
- Communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
Requirements (Minimum)
- Nursing Diploma or Degree (General, Psychiatric, Midwifery, Community Nursing)
- Post-basic qualification in Primary Health Care
- Valid Dispensing Certificate
- Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
- At least 2 years’ experience in a primary healthcare clinic environment
- Ability to travel independently to and from the workplace
