The role involves providing pharmaceutical care, taking responsibility for patients’ medicine-related needs, and ensuring accountability for meeting those needs.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Matric / Grade 12
    • Basic Pharmacist Assistant qualification
    • Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)
    • Working experience on Unisolv
    • Proficient in MS Office
    • Strong numerical skills
    • Fluent in English and a second language
    • Willingness to work retail hours

    Advantageous:

    • Knowledge of Retail/FMCG operations
    • A third additional language
    • Experience with SAP and E-Scripting
    • Knowledge of drug and family planning, and complementary medicine

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist with the sale of Schedule 1 and 2 medicines
    • Assist in compounding and preparation of non-sterile medicine
    • Support in repackaging and stock distribution of Schedule 1-5 medicines
    • Handle prescription reading, selection, and preparation of medicine
    • Provide accurate medication instructions to patients
    • Stay updated on medical aid procedures for claims
    • Assist with medical aid cost explanations
    • Ensure accurate submission of claims and resolve any errors
    • Maintain and merge customer profiles
    • Report stock errors and ensure stock control
    • Facilitate bi-annual stock takes

    Competencies:

    • Strong communication and customer service skills
    • Attention to detail and problem-solving
    • Ability to work under pressure
    • Computer literate (MS Office)
    • Trustworthy, reliable, and team-oriented

    Special Conditions of Employment:

    • Must be registered with the South African Pharmacy Council
    • Physically fit to stand for long periods
