Job Overview
The Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of security services provided to Fidelity Security Services’ clients. The role requires a strong focus on maintaining the site-specific security requirements as outlined in the service level agreement (SLA), ensuring that all security officers are appropriately posted and that operations are managed effectively. This position requires the ability to work under pressure while managing multiple priorities to ensure that clients’ security needs are met professionally and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
The Operations Manager at Fidelity Services Group will be responsible for a variety of crucial tasks that directly impact the success of the company’s security operations. These tasks include:

Client Relationship Management: Maintaining strong, professional relationships with clients by ensuring the services rendered meet or exceed their expectations. Regular communication and feedback with clients will be essential to monitor service levels and resolve any issues.

Staff Management: Supervising and managing security officers, ensuring that they meet the client’s requirements and perform their duties effectively. This includes posting security officers for both day and night shifts and handling disciplinary actions when necessary.

Reporting: The Operations Manager will be responsible for compiling, distributing, and communicating daily, weekly, and monthly reports. Incident, accident, and investigation reports must also be handled meticulously, with all necessary documentation compiled and statements obtained from investigations.

Security Audits and Assessments: The position involves assessing the security risks at client premises and recommending improvements. This includes auditing access registers and generating exception reports, ensuring that security measures are robust, and minimizing risks from potential threats.

Compliance: The Operations Manager must ensure that all security officers are compliant with the contractual requirements stipulated by the client and adhere to the company’s policies and guidelines. This includes attending the CCMA and Labour Court when necessary, and ensuring compliance with all security protocols.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- A Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or an equivalent qualification is essential.
- PSIRA Grade A or B registration and accreditation, with up-to-date certification.
- No criminal record or pending criminal cases.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable personal transport.
- A minimum of 2-5 years of supervisory or management experience, preferably in the security industry.
- Experience in staff management, with a proven ability to lead and motivate teams.
- Proficiency in computer literacy is required, with a focus on administrative and reporting tools.
- The candidate must be physically fit and in good health, capable of handling the demands of the role.
- Residency in Bloemfontein or willingness to relocate at own cost is required.
