    Purpose of the Job

    To provide professional clinical services within the Primary Health Clinic of the University of the Free State. The role includes health promotion, HIV counselling and treatment, emergency response, and active involvement in peer education and awareness campaigns, contributing to a healthier university community.

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience

    Inherent Requirements:

    • Nursing diploma/degree (General, Psychiatric, Midwifery, and Community Nursing)

    • Post-basic qualification in Primary Healthcare

    • Valid Dispensing Certificate

    • Completed NIMART Course (Nurse-Initiated Management of Antiretroviral Therapy)

    • Knowledge of Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP)

    • SANC Registration (South African Nursing Council)

    • Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience in a primary healthcare clinic

    • Valid Driver’s License

    All qualifications, certificates, and registration documents must be attached to the application.

    Recommendations (Advantageous):

    • Own transport

    • Dispensing Licence

    • Experience working with young adults/students

    Key Responsibilities

    • Deliver clinical services at the Primary Health Clinic

    • Provide HIV counselling, initiation, and treatment

    • Manage clinic stock control and medication orders

    • Perform emergency medical interventions on campus

    • Provide first aid at sports events

    • Organise and lead health and HIV awareness campaigns

    • Coordinate Peer Educator programmes and conduct training

    • Develop training materials aligned with health promotion goals

    • Liaise with internal and external health role-players

    • Capture clinical data using the electronic medical system

    • Maintain clinic quality control standards
