Job Purpose:
To strategically lead and oversee the management, integration, coordination, and monitoring of developmental social services and institutional service delivery across all districts within the Department of Social Development.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and facilitate the implementation of integrated developmental social services at district level
Coordinate and integrate service delivery across service points and departmental institutions
Monitor and manage the effective provision of:
Social Welfare Services
Community Development Support Services
Financial Management in districts
Lead and support the implementation of departmental services within residential care facilities and institutions
Implement partnership strategies to mobilize stakeholders and role-players for enhanced service delivery
Drive the District Development Model (DDM) within the department
Provide strategic leadership, including planning, resource allocation, and performance monitoring
Manage human resources, ensure performance agreements, competency assessments, and financial disclosures are in place
Minimum Requirements:
Qualification:
Undergraduate qualification (NQF Level 7) in Social Work, recognized by SAQA
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience at Senior Managerial Level
Professional Registration:
Must be registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP) as a Social Worker
Pre-entry Certificate:
SMS Pre-entry Certificate (Nyukela) is not required for shortlisting, but must be submitted before appointment
Additional Requirements:
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel
Strategic capability, leadership, and management skills
Proven skills in change management, conflict resolution, people management, and networking
