Job Purpose:
To assist artisans and technical staff with maintenance, repairs, and preparation of materials and tools within the workshop/assessment area, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and proper functioning of machinery and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist mechanical artisans with maintenance, repair, and servicing of machinery and mechanical installations

Carry and maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition
-
Prepare materials and tools in advance for assessment tasks
-
Ensure workshop and assessment areas are clean and safe
-
Perform minor maintenance and repairs on equipment and aids
-
Safeguard tools, machinery, and consumable materials
-
Transport assets from and to the asset management section as required
Minimum Requirements:
-
Qualification:
-
Grade 10 or equivalent qualification recognized by SAQA
-
Six (6) months of trade-related experience/qualification
-

Skills and Knowledge:
-
Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
-
Basic knowledge of cleaning materials and safety procedures
-
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively
-
Technical understanding of tools and machinery
-
Ability to perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks
-
