Salary:
- Grade 1: R181,230 – R204,156 per annum
- Grade 2: R211,401 – R236,376 per annum
- Grade 3: R249,141 – R306,141 per annum
Job Description
The Nursing Assistant will provide elementary nursing care to patients under the direct supervision of a Professional Nurse. The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering safe and effective nursing support while complying with professional standards, applicable legislation, risk management procedures and resource management requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provide optimal, elementary nursing care under the direct supervision of a Professional Nurse.
- Adhere to prescribed nursing norms, standards and applicable professional and legal frameworks.
- Utilise human resources, consumables and assets effectively within the allocated budget.
- Comply with Supply Chain Management prescripts when managing resources.
- Implement the Free State Department of Health (FSDoH) risk management strategy.
- Contribute to improved efficiency and the reduction of service-delivery complaints and potential litigation.
- Use relevant electronic data systems and manual source documents to record, capture and reconcile data.
- Support the effective flow of information and communication within the area of specialty.
- Maintain professional growth and ethical standards.
- Participate in self-development in line with the Nursing Education Framework.
Requirements
- A qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Nursing Assistant (Enrolled Nurse Assistant).
- Current registration / Annual Practising Professional (APP) licence with SANC as a Nursing Assistant.
Experience Requirements
Grade 1:
- No experience required after registration with SANC as a Nursing Assistant.
Grade 2:
- Minimum of 10 years’ appropriate/recognisable experience after registration with SANC as a Nursing Assistant.
Grade 3:
- Minimum of 20 years’ appropriate/recognisable experience after registration with SANC as a Nursing Assistant.
Knowledge and Skills
- Excellent current clinical competencies and skills.
- Good organisational, collaborative and interpersonal skills.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Honesty, integrity and a high work ethic.
