Project Purpose
The purpose of this tender is to appoint a suitably qualified building contractor to perform minor repair and maintenance works at the Phuthaditjhaba Fire Station offices and dormitories.
The project aims to restore and maintain the condition, safety, functionality, and usability of the fire station facilities to ensure that municipal emergency services personnel have a safe and suitable working and accommodation environment.
Scope of Work
1. Site Preparation and General Works
The appointed contractor will be responsible for:
- Establishing a safe working area.
- Protecting existing facilities and equipment during repairs.
- Providing labour, tools, equipment, and materials required for the works.
- Coordinating activities with the municipality and fire station management.
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
2. Building Repairs and Maintenance
The works may include, but are not limited to:
Building Structure Repairs
- Repair of damaged building elements.
- Minor masonry repairs.
- Plaster repairs and patching.
- Crack repairs where required.
- General building maintenance works.
Office Repairs
- Repair and maintenance of office areas.
- Repair of damaged finishes.
- Replacement or repair of defective components.
- Improvement of working conditions within office spaces.
Dormitory Repairs
- Repair and maintenance of dormitory facilities.
- Addressing defects affecting accommodation areas.
- Repair of damaged surfaces, fittings, and finishes.
- Ensuring facilities remain suitable for occupation.
3. Painting and Finishing Works
The contractor may be required to perform:
- Surface preparation.
- Internal and external painting.
- Repair of damaged paintwork.
- Application of suitable coatings.
- Restoration of affected finishes.
4. Plumbing Repairs
Possible plumbing-related works include:
- Repair of leaking pipes and fittings.

Minimum Contractor Requirements
