Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic, commercially minded Managing Director to lead a leading fertilizer mixing and distribution company in the Free State. The successful candidate will drive operational excellence, sustainable business growth, and foster a people-centric culture while aligning strategic, operational, and financial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage all aspects of company operations, ensuring efficiency, profitability, and compliance with industry standards.
Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve growth, operational excellence, and market leadership.
Oversee financial management, budgeting, and reporting processes.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, clients, and regulatory authorities.
Lead, mentor, and develop senior management teams and staff to promote a high-performance culture.
Ensure sustainable business practices and adherence to ethical, legal, and regulatory standards.
Drive innovation in fertilizer production, distribution, and operational processes.
Requirements
Relevant tertiary or postgraduate qualifications (Agriculture, Business Management, or related).
Minimum 10 years’ executive management experience, preferably in the fertilizer or agricultural sector.
Proven track record of aligning strategic, operational, and financial goals.
Strong commercial, financial, and leadership acumen.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and people development skills.
Ethical, principled, and capable of managing conflict constructively.
Deep understanding of the South African agricultural landscape.
