Responsibilities:

Teach undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Industrial Psychology and Human Resource Management

Supervise Honours, Master’s, PhD students, and registered industrial psychology interns
-
Conduct and publish accredited, high-quality research aligned with faculty strategy
-
Perform academic administration (e.g., setting/marking exams, handling student queries)
-
Participate in curriculum development and departmental planning
-
Serve on academic committees and contribute to faculty governance
-
Develop partnerships with professional bodies, government, and industry
-
Drive engaged scholarship initiatives within the academic community
Qualifications (Inherent Requirements):
Depending on the level of appointment:
Lecturer:
-
PhD (NQF Level 10) in Industrial Psychology/Human Resource Management or equivalent
-
Proven research experience (presentations and publications)
-
Evidence of manuscripts for potential publication
Senior Lecturer:
-
PhD (NQF Level 10) as above
-
Undergraduate/postgraduate teaching experience
-
Supervision of Master’s students (and interns, if registered)
-
Publications in accredited journals
-
Participation in national conferences and scholarly societies
-
NRF rating or potential for NRF rating
Associate Professor:
-
As above, plus supervision of PhD students and external examining
-
International/national recognition in the field
-
Peer-reviewed conference contributions and editorial board experience
-
NRF rating of C3 or demonstrable potential
-
Leadership in research and curriculum development
Professor:
-
All above, plus proven international research leadership
-
NRF rating of C1/C2 or potential for such rating
-
Experience as keynote speaker and senior academic examiner
-
Recognized reviewer or editorial contributor to international journals
Recommendations:

Membership with SABPP or HPCSA
-
PhD supervision experience
-
Experience presenting Industrial Psychology modules

Proficiency in MS Office

Evidence of research funding application and public engagement
