Tender Description
Transnet Pipelines is seeking a service provider for the installation of a smallbore steel pipe wastewater system at its petroleum products storage and handling facilities in Alrode and Witbank.
Scope of Work
The tender covers engineering, procurement, installation, testing and documentation associated with electrical, instrumentation and control infrastructure, including:
- LV and MV switchgear, MCCs and distribution boards.
- Equipment marshalling cabinets and field junction boxes.
- Power, control, instrument and communication cable reticulation.
- Cable racking, trenching and earthing/lightning protection.
- Lighting, trace heating and socket outlet installations.
- Engineering documentation, equipment tagging and as-built handover.
- Indoor and outdoor installations, including classified hazardous areas.
Technical Requirements
- Compliance with applicable SANS, SABS, IEC, ISA, API and DIN standards.
- Equipment and enclosures must meet specified environmental and protection requirements.
- Electrical systems must include required distribution, earth bars, surge protection and backup systems.
- Hazardous-area cabling must comply with Intrinsic Safety and certified cable-gland requirements.
- Earthing and lightning protection must meet specified requirements.
- FAT and SAT procedures must be conducted and documented.
- Drawings and as-built documentation must comply with Transnet standards and be submitted in native and PDF formats.
Required Skills
- Electrical and instrumentation engineering design experience.
- Knowledge of South African and international electrical and hazardous-area standards.
- Experience with power system studies and protection relay coordination.
- Knowledge of SCADA, PLC/I/O marshalling and VSD applications.
- Experience conducting FAT/SAT and electrical testing.
- Advanced AutoCAD drafting skills.
- Project management and technical documentation capabilities.
- Familiarity with Transnet tagging and labelling standards
