Job Overview
Econo Foods is looking for a dedicated Warehouse Operator: Picking to join its Logistics team in Bloemfontein East End. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately picking, packing, counting, and preparing products for dispatch while maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency, and workplace safety.
This role is ideal for individuals with warehouse experience who enjoy working in a fast-paced FMCG environment and are committed to delivering excellent service through accurate order fulfilment.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick loose cases and layers according to picking instructions.
- Pack picked products securely using the correct packaging materials and labels.
- Maximise pallet stability for safe transportation and delivery.
- Count and verify picked products to ensure order accuracy.
- Report out-of-stock and short-picked items.
- Operate warehouse picking equipment to locate and retrieve products efficiently.
- Work closely with the inventory team to maintain accurate stock records.
- Report stock discrepancies and inventory issues.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work area.
- Report damaged products, packaging issues, or incorrect labelling.
- Participate in training to improve warehouse knowledge and picking techniques.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company work instructions.
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and comply with all health and safety requirements.
- Contribute to achieving warehouse productivity and team performance goals.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
- Valid Electric Pallet Jack Licence.
Experience
- 1–3 years’ experience in a similar warehouse role.
- Experience within the FMCG retail industry will be advantageous.
