Job Description
As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing plant equipment to ensure smooth production operations. You’ll work with maintenance systems, perform inspections, and contribute to safety and efficiency in the plant.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repairs
- Perform mechanical maintenance on plant equipment
- Ensure equipment reliability and operational efficiency
- Follow maintenance procedures and documentation systems
Technical Operations
- Read and interpret technical drawings and job instructions
- Use plant maintenance and work management systems
- Apply process knowledge relevant to the plant
Safety & Compliance
- Follow Safety Management Systems (IMS, MBO, etc.)
- Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments
- Apply emergency procedures when required
Reporting & Teamwork
- Provide feedback to supervisors on work progress
- Participate in daily meetings and planning sessions
- Support root cause analysis (RCA) and safety improvements
Housekeeping & Inspections
- Maintain clean and safe work areas
- Conduct inspections to improve plant sustainability
- Follow proper waste disposal procedures
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / High School Certificate
- 0–5 years relevant experience in mechanical fitting or similar
