The role focuses on fleet maintenance and workshop operations management. The ideal candidate is an experienced supervisor with mechanical expertise, particularly in diesel vehicles, capable of leading a team and ensuring minimal vehicle downtime.
Key Responsibilities
Staff Management: Lead and supervise workshop mechanics and support staff.
Fleet Maintenance: Plan, oversee, and ensure maintenance, servicing, and repairs of trucks and trailers.
Inspections & Compliance: Conduct regular vehicle inspections and ensure adherence to safety and legal standards.
Inventory & Budgeting: Manage parts inventory, supplier relationships, and workshop operational budgets.
Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate service and repair records to ensure efficient fleet operation.
Operational Support: Respond to breakdowns and urgent vehicle issues; perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Trade Test: Diesel Mechanic (essential).
Experience: 3–10 years in workshop supervision or management within the transport/vehicle maintenance industry.
Skills: Strong leadership, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Competencies: Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and respond to urgent vehicle breakdowns.
