    Job Description

    As a SAIPA Clerk, you will assist with daily accounting activities, financial data processing, audit preparation, and client liaison while working toward your SAIPA designation. You will support senior accountants in preparing financial statements, managing client accounts, and ensuring compliance with SAIPA requirements. The role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced professional environment.

    Key Duties & Responsibilities

    1. General Accounting, Processing & Reconciliations

    • Capture invoices and process payments.

    • Maintain accurate transaction records.

    • Perform bank and account reconciliations.

    • Assist with journals, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

    2. Support in Preparing Financial Statements

    • Assist senior staff with compiling financial statements for various entities.

    • Prepare supporting documents and review data for accuracy.

    • Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes.

    • Help prepare management accounts.

    3. Financial Data Capture & Audit Assistance

    • Capture financial transactions using accounting software (e.g., Pastel, Excel).

    • Organise documents and schedules required for audits.

    • Support auditors with information requests and stock counts.

    • Help with audits for companies, trusts, and NPOs.

    4. Client & Team Communication

    • Communicate professionally with clients to resolve queries.

    • Work closely with colleagues and support team collaboration.

    • Communicate fluently in both Afrikaans and English.

    5. SAIPA Training Requirements

    • Maintain accurate SAIPA logbook entries.

    • Adhere to program deadlines and reporting requirements.

    • Ensure compliance with statutory and training obligations.

    • Commit to ongoing professional development.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Matric (Grade 12)

    • BCom Accounting degree OR currently studying toward BCom Accounting

    • Afrikaans & English fluency (written and spoken)

    • Valid driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

    • Ability to work under pressure

    Working Hours

    • Monday–Thursday: 07:30 – 16:30
