    Job Description

    The Driver: Light Duty is responsible for carrying out vehicle transportation and inspection duties while ensuring vehicles are safe, secure, and roadworthy. The successful candidate will assist with vehicle deliveries, driver training, inspections, and other operational duties to support the dealership’s daily activities.

    Key Responsibilities

    Vehicle Inspection

    • Inspect vehicles for defects and damages.
    • Check vehicles for roadworthiness before use.
    • Inspect new vehicles for:
      • Damage
      • Defects
      • Missing tools
      • Spare wheels
    • Report any issues to the Dealer Principal or Manager.

    Vehicle Movement

    • Move vehicles between:
      • Dealerships
      • Suppliers
      • Customers
    • Ensure vehicles are parked securely and locked.
    • Confirm vehicle keys are stored safely.

    Vehicle Maintenance

    • Start vehicles regularly to prevent battery damage.
    • Monitor the condition of dealership vehicles.
    • Ensure vehicles remain secure at all times.

    Driver Training

    • Provide driver training to customers during new vehicle handovers.
    • Explain vehicle operation and features.
    • Complete all required driver training reports.

    General Duties

    • Report all accidents and traffic violations.
    • Work overtime and night shifts when required (20:00 – 05:00).
    • Assist with language translation where possible.
    • Perform any other reasonable duties assigned by management.

    Minimum Requirements

    Applicants must have:

    • Grade 12 (Matric).
    • A valid Code 10 (C1) driver’s licence.
    • A valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).

    Advantageous Qualification

    • Driver Trainer Qualification with an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) or similar organisation.

    • Support dealership operations through additional assigned duties.
