    Job Description

    Eskom is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Officer Procurement to join the Procurement and Supply Chain Management Department at Lethabo Power Station. The successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient procurement of high-value and high-risk goods and services, ensuring all procurement activities are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with Eskom’s procurement policies, procedures, and governance standards.

    This role involves sourcing suppliers, managing procurement processes, negotiating contracts, administering purchase orders, analysing procurement information, and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Execute integrated sourcing and procurement processes for goods and services.
    • Purchase goods and services while ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
    • Manage procurement administration, including purchase orders and documentation.
    • Perform dual adjudication of tenders and manage contracts in accordance with Eskom standards.
    • Monitor procurement risks and provide timely recommendations to management.
    • Negotiate with suppliers to secure favourable pricing, quality, and delivery terms.
    • Coordinate the conclusion of supplier agreements to meet business requirements.
    • Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
    • Analyse procurement information and prepare reports to support decision-making.
    • Ensure procurement activities comply with governance, financial, and contractual requirements.
    • Support effective contract management and supplier performance monitoring.

    Minimum Requirements

    Qualifications

    Applicants must have:

    • Diploma (NQF Level 6 with 240 credits) in one of the following:
      • Transport
      • Economics
      • Commerce
      • Logistics
      • Supply Chain Management

    Experience

    Applicants must have:

    • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in:
      • Sourcing and procurement, or
      • A related technical procurement environment.

    Knowledge and Skills

    • SAP Materials Management (MM) module.
    • Procurement and sourcing processes.
