Job Purpose
The Shop Assistant is responsible for supporting daily retail operations, assisting customers, handling stock movement, and maintaining store cleanliness and organisation within the VKB Retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Assist customers with product information
- Help customers with loading goods
- Provide friendly and helpful service
Stock Handling
- Receive, pack, and move stock safely and accurately
- Ensure stock is correctly displayed and replenished
- Maintain proper stock control
Store Maintenance
- Keep depot/store clean and organised
- Maintain hygiene and safety standards
- Support general housekeeping duties
Operational Support
- Assist colleagues with daily retail tasks
- Support smooth flow of goods in the depot
- Uphold company procedures and values
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / NQF Level 4
- Retail or depot experience (advantageous)
- Must be willing to work weekends and public holidays
- Clear criminal record
- Physically fit for manual work
