Job Overview
Eduvos is seeking a qualified Academic Content Writer with a specialisation in Applied Sciences (Biotechnology) to join its Academic Development team. This fixed-term, full-time position offers the opportunity to develop high-quality learning materials, assessments, and digital content that support higher education students across Eduvos’ national campuses.
The successful candidate will collaborate with subject matter experts to create engaging, academically sound learning resources that align with Eduvos’ curriculum and quality standards.
Job Description
The Academic Content Writer will be responsible for designing, developing, reviewing, and updating learning materials and assessments for Biotechnology and Applied Sciences programmes. The role also includes uploading content to learning management systems, responding to academic content queries, and ensuring all materials meet Eduvos’ academic and branding standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new learning materials, including study guides and assessments.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts through established communities of practice.
- Develop content in accordance with Eduvos’ academic development guidelines.
- Ensure all learning materials align with programme specifications and Eduvos branding.
- Submit completed content for moderation and copy editing.
- Upload and publish learning materials on the appropriate learning platforms.
- Review and update existing learning content and assessments.
- Respond to content-related academic queries.
- Upload and manage module content where required.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching and learning resources.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Biotechnology or Environmental Science.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in:
- Lecturing in Higher Education.
- Learning design and curriculum development.
- Developing study materials for Higher Education.
- Experience creating interactive content using a Learning Management System (such as Moodle) is highly advantageous.
- Experience developing assessments across various NQF levels.
- Academic journal publications will be an added advantage.
